Mr. Caplea is the founding principal of the Caplea Corporation, an architectural firm specializing in the integration of architectural / planning and construction management services. The firm has been involved with providing solutions for different type of projects of varying complexities for the past 34-years. These design, design-bid and design-build projects have been executed for the construction of simple additions to multi-million dollar campus plans involving multiple buildings. Joe serves as the initial client liaison with follow-up through all phases of development, including programming, design, document production, bidding and construction.
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1975 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Joe obtained his Class 1 (Chief Building Official) and Class 2 (Master Plan Examiner) certification with the State of Ohio. He has been providing code administration and review services for several local municipalities as an “interim” and/or “backup” code official since 1985. This specialty education and practice has provided many common-sense solutions to all of our code-sensitive projects.
